How do I register as a Decorati Pro (design professional)?
Just like showrooms in design centers, Decorati requires designers to provide a valid reseller ID, trade references, and business contact information. We verify this information by contacting the state in which your reseller ID is registered. Designers from states without resale licenses and outside the US, please email connect@decorati.com.
What is Decorati Pro?
Decorati Pro is a type of account. Professional interior designers can register for a Decorati Pro account. Pro accounts enable designers to see net pricing, submit showroom quote requests, participate in community features, and upgrade to higher account levels.
What is Decorati Pro Premier?
Decorati Pro Premier is a premium level of account for interior designers. Interior designers should sign-up for Pro Premier to be on our preferred list for Design Advisor inquiries, get a portfolio site and personalized URL, and promote themselves on Decorati. No other membership service provides interior design professionals with such a valuable place to market themselves or receive direct client inquiries.

What is the Decorati Design Advisors matching service?
Decorati Design Advisors is a matching service that connects consumer clients with designers. Clients fill out a form on Decorati describing their projects, such as style, budget, and design preferences. Decorati matches the client with a pool of designers using a proprietary algorithm and up to 4 designers can contact the client. Once Decorati distributes a client lead, it is up to the designers to act quickly and sell their services. The service is extremely successful, with most leads selling out within an hour. Designers get on the preferred list for matches by upgrading their accounts to Decorati Pro Premier and by being very active users.
How much does it cost to purchase a lead?
Decorati Design Advisors program is based on a proprietary system that creates the best matches between consumer inquiries and designers. We currently offer leads at two price points: $18 and $38. We determine the price of the lead based on a variety of ever expanding variables, from budget to type of project. The fee for the lead is at the bottom of the email you receive. If you click on the link to purchase the lead, you will not be automatically charged. You can then verify the amount and choose your form of payment via PayPal. We also provide preferential treatment to our Decorati Pro Premier subscribers and most active users. We do not disclose our precise matching techniques, but we assure you we are focused on delivering the best matches.
Why was I matched with a lead?
Decorati's proprietary matching system is based on over 20 dimensions, including your professional profile, such as location and style preferences, as well as your Decorati activity level, such as the last time you logged in, whether you have uploaded photos and tagged products, your responsiveness, etc. To allow us to better match you with clients, please login to your Decorati account and click the My Account button at the top of the screen. From here, click on About Me and complete your professional profile. Then click Design Advisors and provide us with information we need to match you. Please also click on the My Portfolio link to maintain an updated portfolio and tag/identify the products you have used. The more information we have about you, your previous work, style, and preferences, the more likely we are to match you with clients and the better the matches will be.
How does location relate to lead matches?
Except for E-Decorating projects, location is an important dimension in our matching system when clients request Face-to-Face projects. Please login to your My Account section, click on Design Advisors, and list the zip codes or cities where you are willing to work. We are currently working on a newer version of this feature for Decorati Pro Premier members that will allow you to be more specific about your location preferences. In the meantime, we suggest you review the leads that are sent to you and disregard any leads you feel are outside your desired proximity. Likewise, should you receive an appealing lead for a Face-to-Face project that is farther away than you may normally seek work, you are welcome to respond to the lead. Decorati has no opinion about whether a project is too far for you or the client.
What is E-Decorating, and how can it grow my business?
Decorating is pioneering a new way to approach interior design called E-Decorating. E-Decorating is the act of executing a design project without Face-to-Face meetings, rather, the designer and client share information via email, phone, and web. Sometimes E-Decorating projects are full consultations with room plans and product suggestions, and sometimes the projects involve only product purchasing assistance (like a buying service). E-Decorating offers two key benefits: lower cost to the consumer and higher volume of projects for the designer. Many designers are already doing E-Decorating, such as when they are working on new construction buildings or assisting clients with one-off product purchases. In addition to matching designers to clients interested in E-Decorating, Decorati offers a number of E-Decorating tools, such as online project folders, the ability to email clients groups of products, and easy one-click contact seller tools. How do I find out more information about the project?
Clients must complete a comprehensive interview form describing their design needs. The client interview form provides designers with as much information as the client is willing to disclose about the project. Decorati does not have additional information. To find out more information about the project, we suggest purchasing the lead and contacting the client directly. As a professional, you are well-equipped to help clients better communicate their needs.
How do I know this lead is real?
We require clients to certify that they are submitting valid requests for design advice. In addition, we personally validate a portion of the leads. Once you buy the lead, please contact the client as soon as possible to sell your services. If either the phone number or email does not generate a response, please try the other. Sometimes clients do not feel comfortable providing a valid phone number online, but they will once you establish email contact. We also provide your contact information to the client as well, and we strongly encourage the client to call or email you within one week, even if he or she has decided to move forward with a different designer. Please allow at least one week, and if after that time you feel there is an issue, please email us at connect@decorati.com and we will investigate the situation and take proper action.
What does the client know about me?
Once you purchase the lead, the client receives an email with some guidelines about our service and working with a designer, as well as your contact information and a link to your Decorati Pro account. Members who have upgraded to Decorati Pro Premier will have a professional portfolio. We strongly encourage you to upload many pictures of your work, as the client may choose to review your Decorati portfolio before contacting you. Non-upgraded Pro members do not have a Decorati portfolio.

How can I use Decorati to promote my business?
Decorati Pro Premier members can promote their businesses two ways:
Portfolio Photos - We provide you with a professional online portfolio micro-site and link to your own website. Photos of your work that you upload to your portfolio will also appear in inspiration photo searches and portfolio searches - especially if you identify or "tag" the products that appear in the photo. As an example, Click Here to see how Decorati founder and interior designer Shane has uploaded her portfolio and "tagged" or identified the products she used in them. Click on any photo to view the products. Then, click on a tagged product to see Shane's photos featured on the product page.
Find-A-Designer Searches - Consumers search based on criteria such as style, specialties, and soon many other characteristics we will be launching in a new advanced search. We urge you to login and complete your profile so you will show up in more searches.

How can consumers find me directly?
The best way to promote yourself on Decorati is to upload professional photos of your work in the My Photos section, and identify (or "tag") the products in them. That way, you will show up in designer portfolio searches as well as on product pages. Available to Pro Premier members only.

How does Decorati help me?
You no longer need to drive to the design center or flip through three-ring binders to discover trade-only products at your local design center. You can order samples and request a quote from the comfort of your home. You can also Print, Save to Favorites, and Email products to clients.
Do I have special access to parts of the site that consumers don't?
Yes, as a designer, you can see designer net pricing and send quote requests to your local showroom via the button on the individual product pages.
Can I buy from Decorati? How does Decorati's pricing compare?
In most cases, Decorati directs you to your local showroom or manufacturer to purchase the product you want. In cases where there isn't a local showroom, Decorati will assist you with your purchase, which typically means sending your inquiry to the manufacturer directly. The prices shown on Decorati are the same as the prices available at the design centers.

Can I sell my own products on Decorati?
Yes, once you register as a designer, you can also list your own items for sale in our Designer Sales section. You can list new items, extras from your design projects, or pieces that your client wishes to sell. Available to Pro Premier members only.
How will people find me or my products?
Decorati offers you an online Designer Portfolio. You can list images from your design work and press links. Consumers can find you via our "Designer Portfolios" link. You can also advertise with us. Login to your account or email us at sales@decorati.com.
