This project combined two vertical condominiums in this client’s vintage building. The goal was to create an open plan with a dramatic staircase between the two condos. The staircase became the feature element in the home. A glass and metal open railing on the second floor allows a view of the upper level library from the first floor. The interior’s space provided a challenge because it included an open plan of the family room, living room and dining room. Each space had its own character and custom wall units and each is separated by a floor and ceiling feature. Architecture by Searl and Associates.
