My client was a well traveled gentleman and his apartment was full of light. Together we decided on a world/well traveled look. We used existing antique maps on the walls and some armour helmets as accent pieces. I also wanted to subdue the strong sunlight, so I used sheers at the windows and an autuminal colour palette... I used a burnt orange "suede" effect on the two alcove walls and used open backed bookshelves in order to see more of the paint effect. Shots of orange were also used in cushions and in the New Zealand pure wool rug. Other worldly influences were the African bashed metal coffee table, the Asian console with inlaid marble and the worn leather armchair. We also added sparkle with the art deco floor mirror and crystal lamps.
