The Klismos Chair is named for the Ancient Greek chair from which its design is derived. Like that chair, its look is both elegant and timeless. However, its elegance hides a durable and integral substructure. The mitred joints where legs meet apron contain a complex set of interlocking fingers that are individually hand fit. The back is made of solid wood, coopered, and laboriously hand shaped with traditional inshaves and radius hand planes. It is finished with a hand rubbed finish which is smooth and soft to the touch.
