Chippendale Fret Rout Settees: For almost 200 years, a very impressive set of fretwork settees has graced the walls of the Assembly Hall at Bath, England. These originals, which vary in length, were used to seat the ladies between dances, or "routs", as they were called at the time. The shallow seat makes this design ideal for today's narrow halls and entrance foyers.
