This antique Oriental Agra carpet is quite unusual, utlizing stepped diamonds filled with angular rosettes sprouting tendrils and flowers to create a kind of "mina khani" or trellis in dark colors across the pale field. Since the medallions have the same color as the ground, the overall effect is open and lace-like. This effect is heightened by the border, which also shares the same ground color, giving the carpet a harmonious unity and density of design.
