Arabesque quatrefoils in soft blue alternate with eight-lobed medallions silhouetted in black, all against a pale cream ground. Rich vinescroll detailing abounds within all the intervening spaces, imparting a lush decorative texture to the field design that echoes throughout the border system as well. A masterpiece in the tradition of the greatest Persian carpets.
