Antique Tabriz Rug from North Persia, early 20th century - The allover network design and a "Kufic" border on this antique extraordinary antique Tabriz are well known in the so-called Zeichour scatter rugs of the East Caucasus, but they are without parallel in Persian room-size rugs of this type. Here the palette is restricted to soft golds, blues, and mauves, making it an excellent decorative rug, despite the opulent detail and richness of the design graphics.
