The name ?chiaroscuro? is derived from the Italian word meaning ?clear and dark? often used to describe the contrast of light and dark as seen in paintings and drawings. This 100% kid mohair pile velvet has a subtly iridescent quality of light and dark, which has been created by weaving and then over dyeing the velvet in a process where only the ground accepts the color, resulting in a sophisticated two-color effect. Both luxurious and durable, this velvet is a wonderful complement to many of our opulent plains.
